DentPicks isn't a chain. It's the second life of an immigrant who fell in love with paintless dent repair, and decided to build the kind of shop he'd want to bring his own car to.
"I came to this country with one suitcase, a stack of dictionaries, and a brand-new green card. Every dent I've ever fixed since then has been a thank-you note to America."
I was born in Lithuania, a small country on the Baltic Sea. My family won the U.S. green card lottery — and yes, that's a real thing — and we packed our lives into two checked bags and flew to the States. I was barely an adult, didn't speak much English, and had no idea what I'd do for work.
My first real American business was tile. I learned the trade on construction sites, saved every paycheck, and finally opened my own small contracting outfit. We were busy. We were growing. Then 2008 happened. The housing market collapsed, builders stopped calling, homeowners stopped renovating, and within months I was answering the phone hoping for any job — kitchen, bathroom, mudroom, anything — just to keep the lights on. By the end of that year I had to shut it down. I was 27 years old, broke, and starting from scratch.
A friend introduced me to paintless dent repair. He showed me a hailstorm vehicle one afternoon — a sedan covered in hundreds of dents — and how he'd massaged every single dent out from behind the panel using nothing but a metal rod and a reflection board. No paint. No filler. No body shop. The car came out looking like it had never been touched. I was hooked instantly.
I joined one of Chicago's top PDR companies and worked my way up to lead technician over the next ten years. We chased hailstorms across the country — Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, Missouri, the Carolinas. I trained dozens of younger techs, flew to Europe to train technicians there, and personally repaired thousands of cars. By the end of that decade I could feel a dent with my eyes closed and know exactly which rod to reach for.
In 2016 my wife and I decided we wanted something slower. Chicago winters were brutal on the kids and on me, and Texas was where the most consistent hail work in the country happens anyway. We moved the family to the Dallas suburbs in 2016. For two years I freelanced for other shops and watched, carefully, how the local hail repair industry treated customers.
What I saw bothered me. Customers were getting nickel-and-dimed on deductibles. Rental cars came out of their pocket. The work itself was rushed because shops were trying to move volume during catastrophe-storm season. Lifetime warranties were verbal handshakes that vanished six months later.
So in 2018, I opened my own shop on Central Expressway in Plano and named it DentPicks. I wrote down everything I'd never seen anyone offer — on a hail claim, pay the customer's deductible out of our pocket, give them a complimentary rental car for as long as their car is with us, and pick the car up and deliver it back to anywhere in DFW — hand them a written lifetime warranty when they pick it up — and we started doing all of it on day one. We still do all of it today.
Paintless dent repair is one of the few remaining trades where mastery requires the kind of patience and precision more associated with watchmaking or jewelry-making than auto-body work. A skilled PDR technician spends thousands of hours learning to read the way light bends across a panel, to feel the metal’s grain through a rod tip behind the surface, to predict exactly where to apply pressure so the dent rises evenly without overshooting and creating a high spot that’s nearly impossible to recover.
It took me a full decade in the field to reach the level where I could close my eyes, run my fingers across a panel, and know the depth, location, and difficulty of every dent on it. There’s no shortcut, no YouTube tutorial, no certification course that compresses that timeline. The craft is built dent by dent, panel by panel, year by year — one storm season at a time.
This is why every vehicle that leaves DentPicks goes through a formal quality-control sign-off before delivery. The technician who finishes a car doesn’t grade their own work — the job isn’t done until whoever runs quality control marks it done, and you’ll see that sign-off in your customer portal. If we find a single flaw in the work on your car, that car doesn’t leave the shop until it’s right — that’s not a marketing line, it’s the operational policy I built the entire business around.
The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex sits inside the most concentrated hail corridor in North America. North Texas averages 1–3 major hail events per year that produce widespread vehicle damage — Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Richardson, and the surrounding North Dallas suburbs see the heaviest activity year over year. We chose Plano specifically because it places us at the geographic center of where the work is, while keeping our facility big enough to handle full-vehicle hail jobs the way they should be handled.
From our shop at 1915 N Central Expy, we serve drivers across the entire Metroplex, with complimentary pickup and delivery on approved hail claims: Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Richardson, North Dallas, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Garland, and Carrollton. We’ve been on Central Expressway in Plano since 2018 — we’ve moved just once, one plaza down for more space — the team doesn’t disappear after a storm, and the warranty on a 2019 repair is just as honored today as it was the day we shook the customer’s hand.
These are the principles behind the five tactical promises below — the foundation that explains why we work the way we do.
We do what’s best for your vehicle — no shortcuts, no in-between standard. Most dents come out with true paintless dent repair that preserves the factory finish; when a panel is damaged beyond what PDR can fix, we’ll tell you straight and replace and refinish it the right way. Every job is signed off through our quality-control process before delivery.
We talk to your insurance directly. We negotiate supplements directly. We waive your deductible up to $1,000. No surprise fees on the back end, no hidden line items, no rate-hike risk passed on to you. Every cost is written down before work starts.
We’re a permanent DFW business with a written lifetime warranty — not a storm chaser who rolls into Texas after a hailstorm, takes your insurance check, and disappears back to Florida before the warranty matters. Plano shop since 2018 — we’ve moved just once, one plaza down, to get more space as we grew.
Anyone can put a slogan on a banner. We put ours on the receipt and on the warranty card. Every promise below is enforceable, refundable, and exactly the way we'd want to be treated if it were our car.
We pay your insurance deductible — even on a $1,000 policy. You walk away spending nothing on a covered claim.
On an insurance-approved hail repair, from the moment we take your keys — no rental coverage required. Pick from our fleet of clean, current-year loaners.
On approved hail claims we meet you at home, work, or the airport. We've delivered finished cars as far as Fort Worth, Frisco, and Allen.
Signed and handed to you at pickup, good for as long as you own the vehicle. If a repaired panel ever fails, we fix it — for life.
Live updates throughout the repair. You'll know exactly what's happening to your car without ever picking up the phone.
Because we use true paintless dent repair, your car's accident history stays clean. Resale value preserved. Factory paint untouched.
DentPicks is not a franchise. We're one crew working out of one shop in Plano, and your vehicle stays with us from the first call to the final detail. When you read a name in a Google review, it's the same person who'll greet you at the door.
Founder & Master PDR Technician
Vytas runs the shop floor and sets the standard every vehicle has to meet before delivery. 15+ years of PDR mastery on every panel that leaves DentPicks — from a 2008 Toyota door ding to a 2024 Lucid hood.
Sales Manager
Rocco leads the field team. He still works neighborhoods himself, but most of his week goes to running the crew — weekly meetings, reading the reports, and being the person a rep calls when a customer asks something out of the ordinary.
Training Manager
Charles trains the crew — new hires learn the job from him, and experienced reps keep sharpening with him. What he teaches is how to read hail damage honestly and explain a claim without pressure. He works neighborhoods himself too.
Field Team · 5 Years
Five years with DentPicks and one of the most experienced people in the field. After a storm he’s the one walking your street, documenting what the hail actually did, and telling you plainly whether it’s worth opening a claim.
Field Team · 5 Years
Also five years in. Dalton covers neighborhoods across the Metroplex after a storm and stays with his customers through the whole repair. Reviews call him out by name for “making everything super convenient.”
Field Team
John is out in the neighborhoods DentPicks serves, checking vehicles after a storm and staying in touch with customers once the car is in the shop. Reviews mention him for going “above and beyond” on keeping people informed.
Field Team
Leland often meets customers in the neighborhood after a hail storm — he’ll show up at your driveway, document the damage, and walk you through what a claim involves before you ever step into the shop.
Office — Mindy Cruise, Office Manager
The people you meet first when you walk into 1915 N Central Expy and the last to wave when you drive away. Mindy runs the office — scheduling, paperwork, and the answers when you call to ask where your car is.
A hail repair passes through more hands than the person who knocked on your door. Here is the rest of the crew, by what they actually do.
The people you meet in your neighborhood after a storm. They inspect, document and explain — they do not repair.
Estimating, scheduling, and the trim and glass work that has to come off before a dent can be pushed out.
Dmitry looks after the rental fleet — pickups, drop-offs, maintenance, and making sure the car handed to you is clean.
The people who actually work the metal, under Vytas on the shop floor.
The bench grows during an active hail season, when volume across the Metroplex needs more hands on the tools.
The office you call, and the in-house team that builds the customer portal you get a link to at drop-off.
Drop by our Plano location any weekday and you'll see the same cars, lighting boards, and red toolboxes you're about to see below. We don't outsource. We don't subcontract. Every panel is fixed under one roof at 1915 N Central Expy.

Every car that comes through the Plano shop is treated like it might be the only car a family owns. Because for most of our customers, it is. That's the lens I learned to look at this business through after the 2008 crash, and it's the lens we still use every morning when the bay doors roll up.
