Four things follow from having a high-voltage pack in the floor, and they show up in every EV repair decision.
- Energy that does not switch itself off. The pack holds a large amount of energy at voltages that are dangerous to people. Manufacturer procedures define when a high-voltage disconnect is required, how it is performed, and by whom. This is not a step a shop improvises.

- Transport is flatbed. Towing an EV with driven wheels on the ground can spin motors that are also generators. Flatbed transport is the default, and any pickup arrangement should assume it.
- Charge state matters. Some procedures specify a state-of-charge range, and a vehicle sitting for a long repair should not be left at an extreme. Ask what the shop's plan is for a vehicle staying more than a few days.
- Keys, apps and sentry modes. Cameras, alarm systems and remote features can complicate shop handling. Ask what needs disabling and get it in writing rather than being surprised by a notification at midnight.
